So you want to own a spaceship? Here’s 3 pieces of advice.
1. Be sure all
the parts are there. Getting stranded on the starway is no joke. There are no
tow trucks. If no one finds you quick, you’ll die.
2. If you can’t
drive it, make friends with a dang good pilot. Friends might be more
understanding if you’re low on funds than a hire on.
3. Whether
flying for business or pleasure, stock your vessel with good vittles, drink,
and company. Space is rather dull unless something or someone is trying to kill
you.
These bits of advice certainly hold true in the Backworlds.
Space is lonely and deadly. Keep that in mind when selecting your spacecraft
from the lot.

ReplyDeleteI hope it goes really, really well for you.
Thank you, EC
DeleteSounds like you should make some enemies as well as friends, just to keep life interesting. Good luck with your promotion.
ReplyDeletelol Enemies keep things spicey.
ReplyDeleteCome, Star Children. The portals are open! Lightworkers go forth and be light! None will doubt you anymore because together we manifest global signs and wonders of unprecedented power. Seeing is believing! All see! All believe! Go!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI hope the portals aren't broken :)
DeleteAlways handy to have a pilot as a friend. Plus, chocolate. Lots of chocolate!
ReplyDeleteYes. Friends would be more forgiving, I think.
DeleteI know I wouldn't be able to afford a hire on so I'd have to make friends with a really good pilot. These are some darn good pieces of advice :-)
ReplyDeleteSame here.
DeleteExcellent advice for space travelers! I'd hate to be stranded in some forgotten corner of the star lanes... And yes, good point about buying a spacecraft from a reputable dealer! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to get stranded too, unless rescuers in space look like firemen.
DeleteThanks for the advice. I'd prefer dull rather than someone trying to kill me...
ReplyDeleteSame here. Dull is nice.
DeleteOMG, thanks so much for the tips. Next time I'm in the market for my own spacecraft I'll keep this in mind.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had known all this before I bought mine.
DeleteGreat trips for the space traveler. I would hope Han Solo would be there to help me out:)
ReplyDeleteIt'd be fun to be rescued by him.
DeleteNumber 1 is probably the greatest advice. Not having all the parts to your spacecraft seems like you're asking for trouble.
ReplyDeleteIt does. BIG trouble.
DeleteI think I will keep my feet on solid earth ground. My boys or their kids can fly in space when it gets safer. But your book tour sounds like fun!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's more entertaining here.
DeleteSolid advice. ;)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteThose sound like sensible bits of advice. :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, you can always add your own flare to it.
ReplyDeleteAll very important things to remember. Plus a really cool name for the ship helps impress folks too. They assume so many things from the name alone. :) Have fun with your tour!
ReplyDeleteA cool name could go a long way. What would you name your ship?
DeleteKind of a funny idea based on this post - a Galactic Towing Company
ReplyDeleteWhat a hilarious idea, Tyrean!
