In Dorianna, my YA horror - paranormal novel, a twist on Dorian Gray, she has a series of meetup parties that go increasingly bad. The first, her Yellow Party is the most innocent with only hints of the dark terror to come. Here is her online party evite:
What was the most disastrous party you went to and why?

Sounds like an interesting party, Catherine....I've been to a few disastrous parties, but none that were filled with terror.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've been to disastrous parties too. Dorianna's Yellow Party is just a rollercoaster, but by the time she throws the Blind Date Confessional one, it turns very dark. Hehe (cue creepy laughter)
DeleteIt's a fantastic invite and an even better book! Thankfully I've never been to a scary party, but I've had my share of socially awkward and clumsy embarrassing moments.
ReplyDeleteChristine, thanks for the kudos. Gawd, yes, I played the socially awkward minx more than once in high school. I was always taller than the boys...
DeleteI'm not a party person, so I don't have any disastrous stories to share.
ReplyDeleteOoo, very cool! I like the idea of wearing a certain color for a party too. I haven't been to too many parties, but I felt awkward at all of them. LOL!
ReplyDeletehahaha, you were surely less awkward than you felt. Not sure where I got the color theme party from, though maybe subconsciously from the Beverly Hill's Housewife Kyle's White Parties. Groan.
DeleteLove the concept for the parties...and the impending terror lurking within! :)
ReplyDeleteRiver, yes, anticipating a big, upcoming party always has its own form of terror, eh?
DeleteI would love to go. I think I have a yellow T-shirt.
ReplyDeleteA RAV in Dublin! Horrible.
ReplyDeleteOh, C Lee, just the thought of that makes me shudder. M, heck yah, rock that yellow T.
ReplyDeleteI look as pale as a corpse when I wear yellow so I would add to the terror at this party. :D
ReplyDeleteahahaha, good one, Julia.
DeleteOh boy this party does not look like it will end sunny. I went to a party because I felt sorry for the guy who was a bit of a freak. There were 3 people there...the freak, the one guy friend I went with and me. I call him the freak because he would not take a shower and smelled. He would get very angry at things he perceived to be done against him. He liked the dark stuff...all in all a future serial killer. Thankfully I never really saw him again
ReplyDeleteBirgit, wow, going to a party with a possible future serial killer who stinks like rotten onions does sound problematic. Bwah ha ha!
DeleteSuch a cool invite... I bet the party would be interesting:)
